Thursday, September 7: 5:00 PM - 6:30 PM
Kristen Miale, President of Good Shepherd Food Bank, kicks off our Chamberlain Lecture Series highlighting Feeding America’s “Go Orange Day”.
Kristen is passionate in her mission to help end hunger. And it’s contagious.
For the past two years the Cumberland Club has participated in the GSFB’s JoAnn Pike Humanitarian Award Evening where Chef Joe and his staff join a dozen or more other Maine chefs at the Food Bank’s Auburn warehouse to provide dinner. Hundreds of guests, including an annual entourage of our members, attend the event to show their support for this amazing organization.
As the largest hunger relief organization in Maine, they provide for Mainers facing hunger by distributing nutritious food to more than 400 partner agencies across the state, including food pantries, meal sites, schools, and senior programs.
In addition to distributing food, the Food Bank, with its partner agencies, lead a statewide effort to combat the root causes of hunger by engaging in advocacy, nutrition education, and strategic partnerships.
Innovative, inspirational, compassionate and collaborative, Kristen tells a story worth hearing.
The Cumberland Club will “Go Orange” for this very special Chamberlain Lecture. Get YOUR orange on and join us!
When registering, please note if you will be staying for the Buffet Dinner that follows.
